Honestly this is one of the most inexpensive gifts I've ever made. I only spent $7 to make the rest I already had in my crafting box. Really easy to personalize and you can tailor this project any way you like. What I loved the most is that it such a great gift and a gift that keeps giving. I made this for my boyfriend for valentines day and I suspect that it will last us till the end of the year. I

Things to purchase

1. Blank cards

I ended up getting this on sale at Michaels for $5. This was a set of cards and envelopes. I don't even need all of them. I had more than half left over, so win win. I can use the left over cards for thank you letters and other projects. I ended up cutting them in half with my wavy scissors.

2. Heart stickers

I got this set of 100 heart stickers for $1, but you really don't have to have these. You can customize with different stickers or if you have better drawing skills than I do you can draw on the cards.

3. A box to put the cards in

This little box ended up costing me less than $1. I got it from Michaels and they were having 40% off all valentines day items. Again, something you don't really need, but good to keep the cards in.

4. Pens, markers or anything to write with

I already had these pens and sharpie. I love these paper mate pens (I use them for my planner). The most inexpensive place I have found these pens are amazon. I also used a silver sharpie. You can really use anything markers, crayons, color pencils, pens, or even type the notes.

5. Wavy scissors

Honestly, you don't really need theses, but I had them in my craft box to use. I used them to cut the cards in half.

How to make

I started out by decorating the box. I didn't want it too girly and I am not that good at drawing so I kept simple.

You can really put what ever title you want on the envelopes, but maybe start with one that says (when you receive this). This part you can really customize your titles.

Some examples I used where:

Open when:

-You can't sleep

-Miss me

-Your kids give you a hard time (he's a teacher)

-Your mad at

-Our anniversary

After I wrote out all my envelopes, I wrote out the rules (I put it in the envelopes in the when you receive this one). Again, you can really customize your own rules, but I left mine pretty basic.

Lastly, I made these cute coupons too. My bf has a tough time sleeping at night so I made a coupon for a couple open when you can't sleep cards and a couple others. I wrote the rules for the coupons on the 1st "can't sleep" card. I wrote some of his favorite places to eat, a home cooked meal and one of his favorite movies. I even threw in some meme pictures in for a good laugh too. Again, you can really customize these cards any way you want.

I loved making this gift. It was a lot of fun and a great way to show someone how much you care about someone. I cannot wait to give it to him. I know that a lot of girl friends don't give out valentines gifts for the bfs, but they put out a lot of effort into valentines day. They deserve a little gift too. Comment below if you made these for someone of if you want too.
